i must say that when it comes to weddings, my favorite part is the moment between newlyweds and parents. it's the only time i cry a little bit. at Y & J's wedding on saturday, what began as a seemingly typical and polished waltz between father & daughter turned into a deeply poignant moment - indescribable by words... just feelable. when she drew her daddy tight around the neck and cried on his shoulder like a little girl, all that came flooding to me was a perceived lifetime of memories, gratitude, longing, painful separation, sweet parting, and slight fear for the unforeseen changes to come without each other. that made me miss my dad very much too. and then i thought to myself (oh boy, every bride needs super waterproof mascara on her wedding day!) hee hee. oh how sentimental our hearts can be! * mine just happens to become tender at the sight of a parent/child bond.
Lord be with little Evie.....
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. - Hebrews 11:6
