question for dog owners: how do i get her to love me?? is it canine nature for dogs to just love their owners unconditionally? crossing my fingers....

i think that starting a relationship with a puppy is like dating. i feel like i shouldn't give her too much attention or she will resent it/take it for granted. but then again, i should give her enough love so she knows that i care about her. loving, but not smothering?? should i even be plotting mind games with a dog??? i just want us to be friends already!! but i should definitely take it slow so as not to scare her off. right? but she's just so cute sometimes! ...oh dear, i'm so bad at these things!!
